(Updated) More information on After Effects’ integration with Cinema 4D can be found on Maxon’s website.
Adobe has posted a number of videos showing previews of the upcoming versions of its video and audio tools. Check them out on Adobe’s website. Also of note, a detailed list of new features of the next version of After Effects is available, which mentions tight integration with Maxon’s Cinema 4D.

They state that a lite version of Cinema 4D will actually ship with AE.
Interesting….
That’s cool but I can’t find any type of product comparison for “lite”. Has anyone seen one?
I can’t imagine the C4D lite is going to be all that great, lite versions rarely are. Just a teaser to get you to upgrade maybe. More curious is if Maxon will be dropping a nice discount to upgrade from Lite.
From the brief videos I have seen on this, it looks like a real nice integration, looks quite a bit less clunky than the max workflow. What I did hear that I thought was interesting, the ability to pipe a scene through C4D lite to get to AE, of course it is not very dynamic but interesting none-the-less.
Hey John. Here’s a comparison:

The lite version lacks a number of things, especially regarding texturing, dynamics, animation, particles and most notably functionality related to C4D’s MoGraph tools.
Still, bundling it with After Effects is an interesting move, we’ll see how it plays out in time. How far will this integration go? I’m sure Adobe has at least considered the possibility of acquiring C4D. For some reason they haven’t done so (yet).
Well, Mocha AE is pretty good for a non-full version – that said, the stuff missing seems pretty important.
Still, nice to have, but I’ve been really impressed with how Element3D has progressed so far.
Thanks Pablo! I suspected as much but all things considering it is actually a bit more robust than I expected. The dynamics, animation, and mograph are their bell-and-whistle tools, most only come with broadcast and studio, of course I certainly would not complain if we had access to those goodies 🙂
I have to say I like it when Adobe straight out says: “We bought X plugin and integrated it into our Y package.” I wish Autodesk would do this instead of renaming integrated plugins – something that only confuses existing and new owners. Examples: NodeJoe became Slate and Polyboost became Graphite.
