NVidia announced an agreement to acquire AGEIA, developers of the PhysX SDK and hardware physics processor. Two things of note, NVidia has already developed proprietary technology for physics calculations (the “Quantum Effects” engine), and the major competitor to the PhysX SDK is the well-known Dublin-based Havok SDK.
