(Updated) We have just posted a complete review of Anima.
AXYZ-design has released Anima, a stand-alone character animation and crowd simulation tool for architects and designers. The software features ready-to-run agent libraries of digital actors controlled by motion capture data, as well as automatic procedural motions combined with a motion blending system to achieve realistic animations. It allows to import 3D geometry and simulate the behavior of crowds with some simple parameters. An artificial intelligence (AI) engine that predicts collisions makes them behave realistically. Anima offers connectivity with Max via a plugin that allows you to render a large number of characters by optimizing memory usage and giving you the flexibility to use renderers such as V-Ray and Mental Ray. A trial version is available for download. More at AXYZ-design.
