Autodesk acquires Tweak

Autodesk has acquired Tweak Software, makers of the RV image and sequence viewer. RV has been used in collaboration with Shotgun Software, the popular VFX production tracking toolset for the past few years, and will now operate under the Autodesk umbrella. i love the fact they discontinued softimage citing hard times in the cgi industry and on the other hand buy companies like a teen girl on a shopping spree. incredible hipocrisy.

To be fair to Autodesk. Who wasn’t already using Shotgun and RV together? I mean I know the joke is Autodesk is where things go to die. But, on the other hand, the purchase makes sense.

Shotgun is already subscription anyways, so RV might just be integrated now… Which would be pretty cool.
