Autodesk has announced that its community portal AREA has been completely reimagined as a “full-fledged community for 3D professionals, students, and enthusiasts across the film, TV, games, and design visualization industries”. Two factor authentification is pretty common these days.
Using phone numbers and SMS for 2fa isnt considered best practice.
There are a few authenticators that work well without the need for personal data. Including Google Authenticator that doesn’t rely on phone numbers OR a google account.
Registration with a cell number serves as a great filter… because only artists and users truly interested in being part of the community will not be bothered by this. 😉
