The Blender Foundation recently wrote a blog post outlining the major targets it plans to tackle in 2020.
Projects include library overrides. multires sculpting, particle nodes, a volume object type, a hair object type, faster animation playback, scene editing in object mode, faster highpoly mesh editing, plus Alembic and USD support. Read the list in full on Blender’s website.

Good focus on performance, which is good.

aaaaw yeaaaaah, hit it!
Multires sculpt?, library overrides (layered reference files)?, USD support?, Asset Manager suited for all aspects of the DCC app’s data structure?, I mean yeah some DCC apps have some of these and some don’t, even as a Houdini user there are some things that look amazing here, good job guys!
yeeeeeah… right… because you have a proper sculpt toolset in max or maya… right?
At least is what Autodeskonline.com says…
“Blender’s sculpting toolset is slightly more limited than Maya’s. However, you can add to it using the custom script option.”
