The latest version of the BonyFace script for rigging and animating facial expressions includes: fast adjustment of splines, pose mixer, animation and pose import from one character to another, improved bvh-layer algorithms, loading, saving and viewing Bonyface-animation files (*.bfa), etc.
BonyFace is a 3DS Max script (Max 2008 and up) developed between Fx Lda and scriptattack.com to drive custom 3D meshes with a rig based on a bones system to simulate how real muscles behave in a face.
It’s the first tool in Max that creates a facial rig from scratch, automatically creates skin, adjusts rig parameters, and has many useful tools for animation. With BonyFace you can create full face rigs from scratch in 10-20 minutes. Since it’s a script, the user can freely share the BonyFace rigged character with another professional that does NOT have BonyFace installed.
There are two versions of BonyFace 2.0:
– Light – freeware version for everyone
– Complete – commercial version for people who want to make professional facial animations
