E-on Software announced the release of its instancing plugin for integrating EcoSystem algorithms into 3DS Max that allows users to populate scenes with millions of instances, and render them with their renderer of choice.
Features include:
– Native rendering using V-Ray or Mental Ray
– Mutlithreaded – renders using all your CPUs
– Automated Smart Scattering – objects can be placed according to the relief of the underlying geometry. For example, as in nature, more trees will grow on flat terrains than on steep slopes, and no objects will be placed where they are likely to “fall down”.
– EcoPainter – instances can be painted with a tablet, which gives the ability to control additional parameters through pressure
– Layered EcoSystem materials and function graph – EcoSystem layers can influence one another by using the affinity and repulsion parameters. Using affinity, trees in the first layer can affect the distribution of grass in the second layer, so that the grass grows only around the trees. The function graph offers full control of population parameters.
– EcoSystem Control – users can paint with the underlying EcoSystem material rules applied so that, for example, the influence of slope and altitude or the sizing rules are taken into account
– Fractal algorithms for natural populations
– Compatibility with SolidGrowthCS plant technology
– Free unlimited network rendering nodes
– Support for animated proxies
Until April 11, 2011, E-on is offering its Vue Infinite and xStream users a $200 discount on Carbon Scatter Multi-CE, which includes over 100 SolidGrowthCS plants and can be used with all compatible applications and renderers installed on your system (available for users of Vue from version 6 to version 9).
In the coming days E-on will be introducing software bundles. The first two suites to be released will include:
* Ozone 5 + Carbon Scatter Multi-CE: $595 (instead of $690)
* Vue 9 xStream + Carbon Scatter Multi-CE: $1695 (a saving of $195)
Read E-on’s press release for information on the offers.

I have to try that one i am so much disappointed of MultiScater. So I really hope that one is working better with 3ds Max 2011.
Joachim,
you should try Forest pro, very powerful
