Chris Bond from Thinkbox Software shares some interesting comments on Thinkbox’s upcoming developments, current collaboration with other companies, and how to get the best performance out of Krakatoa. He mentions Fathom, a software they’re working on designed for generating particles, creating PRTs at 30 frames per second via Kinect or similar input device, and X-mesh, a specialized mesh renderer and geometry caching toolset that supports Max and Softimage. More at Thinkbox’s blog. Also of note, the Canada-based company has posted a video showing their demos at SIGGRAPH, as well as the Krakatoa stand-alone version at work (part I–part II).
