Connector adds Unreal support
Design Connected has announced the its Connecter asset management tool now has Unreal Engine 4 integration. Using a custom file format called Connecter Unreal Assets Package (CUAP), it is able to transfer assets from one project to another, without opening Unreal Engine. The format is able to save all related assets and meta-data, which are required for the migration of complex ready-to-use assets.
According to the developers, there are two major workflows:
- Export Assets to Connecter – from Unreal’s Content Browser, select one (or multiple) assets and pick a folder. All assets will be saved as CUAP and will get a custom preview assigned to it that is based on what you see in the Content Browser.
- Load in Project – in Connecter, you will then have the option to load the selected assets to the content browser of you active project, or transfer them to any specified project folder.
Full details about the Unreal Engine 4 integration can be found in the release notes.
