Fabric Software has updated its platform for building high-performance graphics applications. Changes include:
- Ability to reload Fabric extensions in a running application
- Improvements to memory management for GPU Compute for KL
- Standalone Splice C++ application for complete portability.
- Support for Maya on OS X
- Major overhaul of the documentation system, including a new
KL Style Guide
Fabric Software has mentioned they’ll be releasing new betas of the Fabric for Max and Fabric for Houdini projects. The Python framework will also be made available, as well as some enhancements to the Rigging Toolbox.
Version 2.0 of Fabric Engine is tentatively scheduled for an early 2015
release. The company is also putting in place a 3rd party developer
model, in order to foster the creation of tools using their platform.
