MasterpieceVR has released Masterpiece Motion, a new VR rigging tool that allows the user to either draw bones in a 3D environment, import an existing rig, or use the software’s auto-rig feature. Once a rig is created, skin weights can be manipulated and painted in VR. Characters can also be posed by interacting with the rig in the VR environment.
Freelance licenses cost $9.95 per month and floating business licenses costs $19.95 per month. A free 14 day trial is available.

Looks really interesting but subscription is non starter for me.. Everyone wants to go sub and I have to vote with my dollars.
Would have probably bought it if it was not subscription
Subscription is horrible. Thousands of little tools and plugins someone should be tied to. This dosen’t feel right.Maybe for excess (only rigging)rigger.
Is “Masterpieve” spelling here a subconscious slip of the finger? -about the subscription aspect?
No disrespect but why would anyone want to rig anything with a VR headset on, rigging is already a daunting serious task to begin with let alone having it in VR with sweaty face and blinded eyeballs after a few minutes/hours, unless its some kind of experimental fun thing to do not that i consider rigging “fun”. Maybe there is a crowd out there for this sort of thing.
With the subscription model, I guess we’ll never know. lol
I do VR for hours playing games. I only ever run into a sweaty face when I really get into a physically active game. And then I just turn on a small oscillating fan to keep me going. I’m not physically fit by any means, but I don’t sweat just from putting on a headset and moving my arms.
If you are sweaty from something with a low activity level as rigging (can’t be any more active than painting and sculpting in VR), then you should really think about joining a gym, or at least take some walks around the block a couple times a week. 😉
Its surprisingly more intuitive to do in VR. I was working in a studio where they were testing something similar, people who hadnt been doing any rigging or 3d were able to setup a simple rig and do a quick animation. This is the market they are going for, people who animate in quill etc.
