Digimania announced an update to its Unreal-based render engine. New features include:
- Maya equivalent materials
- Maya material export
- Dynamic reflections
- Real-time depth of field and bloom
- Screen-space ambient occlusion
- Render layers and passes
- Realistic contact shadows
Designed for medium-quality animation pipelines, like kids cartoon shows and TV animation, RenderDigimania produces fast renders – according to the company, up to 1,000 times that of traditional ray-tracers. It slots right into an existing Maya workflow, enabling artists to setup and light scenes in realtime, iterate quickly and and produce final output over lunch rather than overnight – all on a single Direct-X 11 compatible PC GPU.
