SmugMug has announced that it has acquired Flickr, the popular photo hosting site originally launched in 2004 and later bought by Yahoo who were recently acquired by Verizon. According to the FAQ both SmugMug and Flickr will continue as separate sites with no plans for immediate changes. The terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
