Just to include different point of view: it’s not UK leaving Europe. It’s the European Union who have left Europe by rejecting European values long time ago and becoming nothing but a bureaucratic cancer. And every service and industry for which there is actual demand has nothing to worry about.

That is not a different point of view, that is spin

Tell that to all the European freelancers, and in turn all the shops that need them…

When you have a centralized bureaucracy making the economic decisions for several nations, how exactly is that good for business let alone the overall economy’s of each country. What may work for one nation may not work for another. It has been damaging in the USA also, the federal government dictating what is best for each state. This makes no sense to run anything this way. The EU is a disaster. Just look at the bastards behind it all and how they live.

This is a heated argument at the moment and I don’t think the EU is perfect,I think the guy in presentation made some good points . But for me I think what concerns VFX peeps are the workers rights that the EU has brought about. The present government is keen on eroding them.

This might be true to some extent, but some people working in VFX were fighting for their ‘rights’ since – like always – and the situation was not getting any better through all these years when UK was in EU. In my opinion when you’re expecting the government to take care of your working conditions it’s not gonna get any better unless you start to value yourself, your work and your skills. It’s not companies fault that some people don’t respect their own skills or hard work and let the employers use them without proper gratification. It’s VFX artists and TDs who should get educated and stop ruining others lives by agreeing to work in unacceptable conditions.

True people have to respect themselves. But companies will always try to get away with doing the least they have to in regards to workers rights. So every extra help you can get counts.

All we have to keep in mind is “why political don’t want us to keep the EU?”
And the answer is really esay to found : Because all the European Deputee are paid approximativly 36 000€ by month (the half for them and the other half for they assistants…)

Now, each state paid the EU each years, and with that money, the European commission order too this country what they have to do with, and ask too all the people this is the E.U. money and not the money of each country…
This is the “European grant”. Because UE has absolutly NO industry too make money, right?

Keep in mind that 80 – 85% ot our laws are ordered by people we haven’t voted for…

And they sing on each radio or TV show that EU is democraty???

VFX should be the SAME as always, and grant will be correctly named as UK grant, definitivly not “UE Grant”…

In France, by example, there is only ONE political party wich fight against the UE, and ask us to use the Article 50 to leave UE, And this party is absolutly forbiden to TV, Radio, newspaper…
And we listen “je suis charly” after that…

I’m absolutly sure that you have to leave UE, but i’m absolutly sure political have a “plan” to keep against your vote!!!
As in France in 2008 when Nicolas Sarkosy adopt the Lisbon convention when he became president, where people by a referendum vote against…

This is a traitor, and i really hope that English should be strong and honored by a revolution if corrupted political try to cancel the “article 50” and the vote.

EU is a business and technocratic alliance… Not an alliance of peace and bubble and beautiful rainbow…

By the end, each country loose is spirit, is soul, is particularity, to be compatible with the only rule it count for EU : CASH
