ValTerra is a new plugin for 3ds Max that imports a 3D model of any city (Photorealistic 3D Tiles on the user’s own Google Maps Platform key or Cesium ion token, or OpenStreetMap buildings, roads and terrain), sets the sun by date and coordinates on a 3D globe, and matches the scene camera to a drone photo (0.56 px RMS in the developer’s measured case). Your render doesn’t sit near the photo. It sits in it.
A free 30-day trial is available, after the trial ends a free Lite tier stays. The plugin is offered at an introductory price of $169 per seat, sales are not open yet but those interested may be added to a list to purchase it at that price. The plugin supports Max 2024 and above, and is developed by Valerii Nikulin from Ukrainian company Shall We Art.
