Xsens has redesigned its Xsens Link motion capture system. The new version provides updated sensors and a reworked eSuit aimed at creating a smoother and more efficient experience for professional production teams. According to the company, the system offers more consistent motion data and a workflow built for animation, game development, virtual production, and visual effects.

The latest Link features lighter textiles, embedded cabling, and one-click sensors that cut setup time by half compared to the previous suit. The suit’s revised construction supports steadier sensor placement, and washable integrated cables are intended to keep alignment consistent throughout multiple takes. Production teams can continue operating without interruption through hot-swappable batteries, while Wi-Fi 6E connectivity streams data in real time to Xsens Animate and common third-party applications such as Unreal Engine and Blender. The processing hub can be positioned anywhere on the suit, offering flexibility for different shooting conditions.

Improved sensor placement is designed to capture cleaner motion with fewer artifacts across a range of performances. The system pairs with the Xsens Animate software platform to form a pipeline that moves data from live capture to post-production with minimal handling. According to Movella, this is intended to support artists working under tight schedules by providing motion data that remains consistent during complex performances.

The new Xsens Link is available to order now. To find out more, visit the company’s website.
