CLO Virtual Fashion has updated Marvelous Designer to version 2025.2, adding a set of features intended to support garment creation, animation work, and compatibility with other digital tools. The release improves keyframe animation by making shrinkage, pressure, solidify, tack strength, and trim weight adjustable over time. These properties allow fabric dimensions, inflation effects, stiffness, attachment strength, and trim behavior to change during an animation.
Patterns can now be converted into trims and accessories, enabling rigid elements and reusable items to be managed more easily. This supports workflows where components such as hard-surface plates or boots must remain fixed during simulation or be transferred between avatars. The Everywhere export process has been revised to allow optimized FBX files to be written directly to local storage after preparing garments, rigs, UVs, and baked textures.
Metahumans in DNA format can be brought into Marvelous Designer non-destructively, allowing outfits to be created on these avatars and later sent back to the Metahuman system with automatic resizing. A new pleat tool provides an interface for creating and adjusting pleats such as knife, box, and accordion types without recalculating earlier steps, giving users more flexibility when refining garment details.
