Atlas brings Filmic tonemapping to After Effects

Stefan Minning has ported the PFSTMO tonemapping operators originally developed by Rafal Mantiuka, Grzegorz Krawczyka, Radoslaw Mantiukb and Hans-Peter Seidel to the Adobe After Effects plugin format. Atlas is open source, includes John Hable's Filmic tonemapping operator and is currently available in OS X 64-bit and Windows 32-bit versions. Source code is available for recompiling for Windows 64-bit. More at Stefan Minning's site.

New features in Kolor's image stitching software for creating panoramas include: fully multi-threaded image-stitching process (up to 6x faster), ability to stitch images shot from different viewpoints (aerial photography, parallel shooting), Neutralhazer that removes undesired haze by analyzing each pixel of the image, HDR Fusion blending for stitching bracketed images and keeping the best colors of each exposure, new manual control points editor, color correction and ghost remover. Faceware 3.0

New features in Image Metrics' markerless facial animation capture software include: automatic pose suggestion quickly shows artists the most extreme and physically different video performance frames that should be added as relationship poses, shared pose database (allows lead animators to establish a character's 'feel' prior to the animation process), new curve refinement tools to take results from the retargeting stage and adjust them to suit the intended usage, etc. A trial version is available for download.
