The Chapel – A short HDR timelapse film

TheChapel is a short film paying tribute to an exceptional protestant temple in Zeliszów, Poland, designed by Karl Langhans and built in 1796-1797. Patryk Kizny (author of the "Autumn" HDR timelapse video) was in charge of direction of photography and editing.

Amazon enters filmmaking business, launches Amazon Studios

An interesting move by the company that started selling books online in the 90s and outmaneuvered every traditional retailer. Amazon Studios is looking for projects that can be produced as feature films and accepts scripts and test movies (rough versions of films). The main idea is to use the net as a way of testing the audience's interest in a film before it gets produced. More at Amazon Studios.

Reading content on a newspaper results in better comprehension than reading on an IPad

According to a study by France-based Miratech using eye-tracking technology, reading a newspaper helps the brain assimilate and memorize better than reading content over an IPad. More at Miratech.fr. (French|English online translation) (Note: many studies have also proved that reading content on written media leads to significantly better comprehension of concepts and rationalization than watching the same content portrayed on a visual medium, such as a TV news broadcast.)

Hitachi announces Ultrastar SSD400S high performance solid state drives

According to Hitachi the new drives reach speeds 100 times faster than HDDs and will be offered in 400/200/100Gb capacities. The drives use SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) and FC (Fibre Channel) interfaces. More at Hitachi.
