IvyTaming – new Houdini digital asset for growing ivy

MC Worldkit has released IvyTaming, a new digital asset for Houdini that allows the user to grow, style, and animate ivy from point seeds on any closed polygonal object. In addition to the procedural growth features you'd expect, the tool also allows the user to control growth by customising the curves and painting masks. Several other advanced features include the ability to distribute non-intersecting leaves, the ability to use any geometry for leaves and many more customisable attributes.  IvyTaming costs $49 from Gumroad and you can watch a teaser video on Vimeo.

Blender Development fund reached first milestone

The Blender Foundation has announced that the Blender Development Fund has reached its first milestone by raising 25,000 euros a month. This figure allows five of the core members from the 2.8 Code Quest to be retained full time. According to the Foundation, the next target of 50 thousand euros a month would employ 10 full-time developers and allow Blender to develop at the same speed as during the Code Quest. Find out more about the Development Fund on Blender's website.
