Blue Zoo's award winning short Mamoon is now available to view on Vimeo. The unusual experimental film, about a mother trying to keep her child safe as the world descends into darkness, was created by projecting 2D characters onto a 3D set created from styrofoam blocks. Watch it on Vimeo.

Adobe has released a sneak peek video of a new content aware fill tool coming to the next Photoshop release. In contrast with the current content aware fill, is offers addition controls over how objects are removed from scenes and appears to be more effective on challenging images. Watch it on YouTube.

Quixel has released a new version of its Bridge software for managing, organising and exporting Megascans assets to a host of supported applications. Version 2018.4 improves download speeds by up to three and a half times and includes brand new integrations for Maya, Unity, Unreal, Arnold, V-Ray and Redshift. (more...)

Visualisation studio Beauty and the Bit has released a short architectural film called Landmark. According to the studio, it was made with the intention of "exploring other languages in architectural animation. It is our attempt to add emotional content, strong storytelling and art direction [...] to achieve a cinematographic experience to show that a solid narrative is not at odds with architecture films."
