Chaos Group has released an update to its renderer for Trimble's modeling software, adding SketchUp 2016 compatibility, improvements to animation, more stable batch rendering, full support for the Skatter extension as well as for ArchVision RPCs. Toronto-based Tendril has made available a music-driven animation that the studio created for the talk they gave at this year's Blend Fest, a get together for designers and animators. Watch the video on Vimeo.

Daniel Martínez Lara and José Molina are working on a Blender add-on for extending Blender's Grease Pencil functionality. The layer manager stores the values and options from each Grease Pencil layer, and is also useful to set each layer's visibility when you are working with lots of layers, backgrounds, different characters, etc. The add-on is expected to be made available soon for download.
