Fabric Engine 2 SIGGRAPH videos

Fabric Software have posted a number of videos that they used at SIGGRAPH for demoing v2 of their platform for building high-performance graphics applications that can be run across various 3D software. Also of note, they have disclosed that they expect to release v2 in the next 4-6 weeks. Watch the videos on Fabric Software's website.

BlenderVR

Developed by researchers from Paris-Sud University's LIMSI lab, BlenderVR is an adaptation of the open source software Blender to support CAVE/VideoWall, Head-Mounted Display and external rendering modality engines. It allows to run the Blender Game Engine on any virtual reality architecture and supports adaptive stereoscopy and communication protocols such as VRPN and OSC with minimal effort. Kuler Islands

Kuler Islands is a new standalone tool developed by John Martini and Mathew Kaustinen (Boomer Labs) to make it easier for artists to generate UV templates for use in painting textures. The tool can batch generate UV Map png images for OBJ files exported from 3D applications, with various export options. Currently it only supports UV Space 1 and OBJ Files. The authors have generously released Kuler Islands as open source. Watch a video on Vimeo and find out more on Github.
