Chaos releases Arena for in camera VFX
Chaos has introduced Arena, its real-time ray-tracing solution for in-camera visual effects on virtual production stages.
Arena comprises several components: a server application that manages scene loading and rendering synchronization; a spawner application that initiates render instances; and a renderer, a modified version of Chaos Vantage, which includes both render instances for LED walls and operator instances for real-time scene adjustments.
Key features of Arena include support for various camera tracking systems such as FreeD protocol, stYpe HF protocol, OptiTrack NatNet, and more. It offers camera mesh projection, inner frustum rendering, frame synchronization, overscan, edge blending, and live scene editing capabilities.
Arena aims to streamline the virtual production process by enabling filmmakers and content creators to make creative changes instantly on set, reducing reliance on post-production fixes. It delivers fully ray-traced quality renders in real-time, accurately capturing lighting and seamlessly blending virtual environments with physical sets.
