Chaos updates Vantage with faster rendering and new lighting controls
Chaos has updated Vantage to version 2.8.
Vantage 2.8 introduces Shader Execution Reordering, which improves rendering speed with reported performance gains of up to 80 percent when using NVIDIA’s Ada and Blackwell series GPUs. The update also includes light linking, a feature that allows users to define which objects are affected by individual lights, enabling more targeted control over lighting setups and scene composition.
New camera lens effects such as bloom and glare have been added, offering adjustable parameters like size, intensity, and color to simulate cinematic visual characteristics. The release also features a parallax shader that creates the illusion of detailed interior spaces on flat surfaces, suitable for architectural visualizations.
Temporal consistency has been implemented to maintain the positioning of scattered elements across animation frames by referencing a stable rest-pose. A new material switch function has been added, allowing users to toggle between material variants without rebuilding shaders, streamlining the look development process.
