Corona 10 released for 3ds Max and Cinema 4D
Chaos has announced the release of Corona 10 for 3ds Max and Cinema 4D. New features include the ability to control individual material channels in Corona Decal, without affecting key attributes. Alterations to diffuse, displacement, metalness, among others, can be integrated into the underlying material much more easily.
Corona 10 is now able to render from inside volumes. Corona’s cameras are now capable of navigating through complex environments, such as smoke and clouds, or partial submersion in water simulations.
The latest version also boasts improved Depth of Field highlight blurring. Using Corona’s new algorithm, bright highlights in a visualization’s out-of-focus areas appear more defined and cleaner, thereby allowing users to direct viewers’ attention to their chosen subject effortlessly.
Listers, a highly requested feature by users, has been integrated into Corona 10. This allows designers to quickly locate and globally adjust scene objects such as scatters, lights, proxies, displacement, and cameras through a new tabbed UI. The integration of these most frequently edited parameters in one place promises to improve editing speed and comparison capabilities.
Lastly, the Corona Benchmark has been updated in line with the new rendering core. This provides testers an accurate measure of how swiftly their CPU hardware renders with Corona 10. The results can be shared publicly or used to develop a database that assists in future hardware purchasing decisions for both companies and users.
