(Updated) Digital Frontier have kindly informed us that their plugin is now available for Max 2013.
Tokyo-based Digital Frontier have released a free implementation of Alembic for Max, which allows to export and import using the open source Alembic file interchange format, jointly developed by Sony Pictures Imageworks and Lucasfilm. The format is designed to handle massive animation data sets and uses dramatically less storage space. Max 2013 is not supported yet. Watch a video and find out more on Digital Frontier’s website.
