Exocortex Alembic for 3DS Max

Exocortex and Canada-based Snowed In Studios are developing a 3DS Max integration plugin for using the open source Alembic file interchange format, jointly developed by Sony Pictures Imageworks and Lucasfilm. The format is designed to handle massive animation data sets and uses dramatically less storage space. Exocortex’s Alembic suite provides a set of tools that allow to standardize pipelines around the Alembic file format. Alembic for 3DS Max is currently in beta, studios are welcome to send emails to participate in testing. More at Exocortex.

Hi,

my name is Oliver Kling and I’m FX supervisor at morro images in Germany. Mainly we’re working with Autodesk Maya but are very interested in a Maya to Max and Max to Maya pipeline for our FX work. Since Maya supports alembic the “Exocortex Alembic Plugin for 3ds max” is now within our focus. So we would like to participate in the beta testing.
