Maxon One Suite update with redshift improvements

Maxon has announced an update for its Maxon One suite, introducing improvements to its Redshift and VFX products and an expansion of its Capsules collection.

The update extends Redshift’s support to Autodesk Maya 2024 on Windows, with broader OS compatibility on the horizon. Redshift 3.5.16 also introduces substantial improvements to memory management in Redshift CPU, resulting in faster rendering and a 50% reduction in memory requirements.

Redshift now offers camera and backplates for 3DS Max users, alongside a new Principled Hair material preset for Cinema 4D, to create more realistic hair with a few clicks. VFX updates include Real Lens Flares compatibility for Adobe Premiere Pro and upgrades to Supercomp’s light simulation capabilities.

Maxon’s Capsules collection now includes twelve new Laubwerk Plant Assets, ranging from Maple and Cherry trees to Lavender and Dutch Garlic bushes and the tropical Kentia Palm. Additionally, 28 new Redshift ArchViz materials have been added, designed to simplify the rendering of plastic objects.

A gazillion years ago and to this day, Max years beg the RS devs to support Phoenix, but of course the RS devs feel threaten from anything Chaos, so they are constantly ignoring anything the Max users ask…
Whatever comes into Max from Redshift, is leftovers development from the other platforms…
Way to go…

At least there still is a Max dev, Maya’s just hanging on waiting for them to find a new one

But yeah, I look at requests I made 4, 5 years ago still unfulfilled

At least their rental only model makes it easy to just leave it alone after this version.

It is on maxon what functions redshift will support in all the specific DCC software. Surly Cinema 4D is the priority supported plattform.

That is the same issue as VRay not supporting the FumeFX. However you have direct RS support for FumeFX 6.

redshift is dead for anything but c4d, even then they stalled development to a snails pace and will be upping the prices

It’s definitel not dead for other apps. Look at the changelog and they make updates for all apps.
