Mighty Instruments is inviting interested artists to a Mighty Tiles Pro open beta. The plugin procedurally creates high resolution tile-based textures, like brick walls, parquet, cobblestone pavements, using individual tile bitmap images. The new version of Mighty Tiles has been rewritten from the ground up with a number of new features including:
- New line and grid based bond patterns, including herringbone.
- Support for non-rectilinear, unusual tile shapes.
- A new distortion feature to create procedural aging effects on individual tiles or the whole wall.
- Different tile sets chosen according to a colour map.
- Ability to use different shaders on the same object.
- A completely new library browser for managing tile sets.
- The ability to nest textures, including support for nesting any other map supported by 3DS Max.
- Large library of predefined tile sets.
- The ability to make a Mighty Tiles map tileable, useful for baking out textures for games artists and other real time applications like webGL and AR.
