Shortage of VFX artists looms ahead

Hollywood Reporter has posted a story discussing the potential shortage of visual effects artists as the demand for VFX heavy films increases. Representatives from companies including Lionsgate Films, Luma Pictures, and Image Engine, spoke at the FMX Conference in Stuttgart, Germany this past week, regarding the risks involved with staffing and producing some of these VFX rich feature films. If there’s truly a shortage, then vfx companies should learn to treat their employees better 🙂
Or moving their companies to remote locations where artist’s do not exist to be cheap
