Nevercenter has updated Silo, its 3D modeling software, to version 2025.2. The release introduces support for Pixar’s Universal Scene Description (USD) format, UDIM textures, viewport syncing, improved unit options, and a range of bug fixes.
USD import and export is now available, with the update supporting materials, shading, and subdivision. UDIM texture support has been added, allowing models to use multiple texture tiles for higher resolution detail in specific areas, such as character faces, without compressing textures into a single UV space.
A new three-view split layout has been added along with synced viewports. This feature allows perspective and orthographic views to remain aligned with one another, making it easier to switch between different viewport configurations while maintaining focus on the same selection or area of a model.
The numerical editor now includes additional measurement unit options. Beyond generic, metric, and English units, users can choose centimeters, millimeters, or inches. The editor can automatically convert between units, such as meters to centimeters or inches, providing more flexibility in precision modeling.
