World Creator has released version 2025.1 of its terrain and environment generation software. The update introduces a redesigned biome system, improved object importing and scattering tools, new material workflows, and support for Blender integration and GTA 5 modding.
The new biome system replaces the previous version and allows procedural distribution, manual painting, and multiple biome layers. Biomes can now include 3D objects and run simulations such as sand, snow, water, and lava. Object importing and scattering has returned from earlier versions, supporting manual placement and brush-based scattering, as well as procedural integration with biomes. The system is designed to handle millions of objects in real time, with export options to Unity, Unreal, and Blender.
Version 2025.1 also introduces a Blender Bridge plugin for direct scene transfer, enabling use of rendering engines like Cycles, Octane, and Eevee. In addition, the update adds workflows for building and exporting custom GTA 5 maps via Codewalker.
A new material system has been implemented, supporting unified workflows for textures and Substance materials, emissive properties, ZIP import, and improved blending. The release also adds a ray tracer denoiser, two new terrain filters for cliffs and spike removal, a world scaler for adjusting scene proportions, and a new scene layer node for importing models and adding cameras.
Video creation is now supported through simple camera flythroughs, and LUTs can be applied for real-time color grading. Other improvements include grid overlays, shape layer masks, an updated path tool, R16 export, object presets, and improved Wacom tablet support.
World Creator 2025.1 introduces new licensing models, including a Studio License for small teams, a limited-time Lifetime License with upgrade support, and discounts for existing customers. The release includes 140 PBR material scans and an introductory 3D asset pack, available for Pro, Studio, and Enterprise license holders.
