Napoli-based Raylight has released another useful plugin for Max. This time it’s XrayBlendSkin, its Dual Quaternion skinning plugin that helps maintain volume a lot better when rotating bones. Features include: Dual Quaternion skinning to avoid candy-wrap artifacts, interactive bind between linear and dual quaternions, paint blending, mirror tools keep in consideration blend weight, weight vertex tools. XrayBlendSkin is a commercial plugin but is released at the low cost of 15,00€ to support further development. More info and a video example at RaylightGames.com.
