The latest iteration of the 3D sculpting and modeling software, ZBrush 2024, has been officially released. This updated version brings a host of enhancements and features designed to improve the user experience.

One of the standout features in ZBrush 2024 is the “Repeat to Similar Feature.” This functionality enables users to apply modifications made to one mesh, such as sculpting changes, mesh replacement, masking, PolyGroup, and Polypaint alterations, across all other meshes with similar topology. Another notable addition is the “DragStamp” stroke type, which allows for real-time adjustment of stroke intensity by cursor movement.

The software also expands its noise options by integrating Cinema 4D noises into ZBrush Surface Noise. This update includes 25 new noises, enhancing the detail users can add to surfaces. Further, the Anchor Brush has been updated to improve quality of life; it no longer requires masking the model for posing or shaping.

The Insert Mesh Brush has also seen enhancements, now being compatible with various stroke types such as Dots, DragRect, ColorSpray, Spray, and DragDot. Additionally, the Knife Brush has been updated to enable splitting a mesh into pieces, facilitating the creation of complex designs.

Masking in ZBrush 2024 has been given additional options with the inclusion of Grow All and Shrink All masking. These allow for more nuanced control over masking on the mesh. The Creasing function has been simplified, making it easy to crease or uncrease surfaces based on unmasked areas. Furthermore, the Gizmo3D/Transpose Masking has been updated for smoother transitions and now includes the ability to snap to the center of the mask.

ZBrush 2024 also includes several other additions and modifications, such as the Split to Parts button, Transpose Classic brush, and improvements in masking and creasing functionalities. The update addresses various issues, including Mask by Smoothness functionality and compatibility with the latest version of Photoshop.

For subscribers, ZBrush 2024 is already available. Maxon One subscribers have the added benefit of using Redshift GPU or CPU in ZBrush, while ZBrush subscribers can access Redshift CPU. New users can purchase the software through the online store, with options for annual or monthly subscriptions. It’s important to note that ZBrush 2024 is now only available as a subscription, but perpetual license users have access to discounted options for the first year of a Maxon One or ZBrush annual subscription.

So 95% of 3D software? Zbrush is still lightyears ahead of the competition. Nomad is the only tool gaining on them.

I stopped counting the amount of professional artists hating zbrush interface, even pro full time zbrush artists! This is madness.
Yes I own nomad, and I wish it gets released on desktop, because it’s made by a sane developer.

In my opinion it has the best UI of all 3D software, and if you don’t like it you can customize it to your liking. Not everything has to look like blender.
