Maxon announced a new update to ZBrush, its digital sculpting software. New features in the Fall 2025 release includes Python scripting on desktop, extended modeling tools, improvements for ZBrush on iPad, and new options for managing workflows.
On the desktop version, Python scripting support now allows artists to automate repetitive tasks, develop custom plugins, and integrate ZBrush more effectively into film and game pipelines. The ZModeler tool has been refined with clearer visual feedback and new options such as auto-creasing for edge loop operations. An upcoming UV editor will enable artists to create and manage UVs directly within ZBrush, adding functionality that was previously dependent on external applications.
For iPad, ZBrush introduces 3D Print Hub and Scale Master, tools already established on desktop, making it easier for artists to set real-world scales and prepare assets for 3D printing. File export options now include STL, 3MF, and VRML formats, expanding compatibility with manufacturing workflows. Interface customization has been improved, allowing users to save and transfer layouts, move interface elements, and adjust controls more easily. The iPad version also includes updates to surface noise tools, undo and redo actions, and cloud-based project storage.
Later this year, new retopology tools are scheduled to arrive on both desktop and iPad, designed to streamline the creation and editing of geometry with expanded control over faces, vertices, and topology patches. A folder restructure will also be introduced to improve file management, particularly for studios and educational users.
