Tech & Research
New Scientist has published a summary of the latest DeepMind research, a neural network that can 'imagine' a scene from different camera angles based on a single input image. The algorithm can also use the information in the photos to gain an understanding of textures, colours, and lighting; even without adding any manual information or labelling about the source image. The results at this point are far from photoreal, but they do point to interesting possibilities for the 3D artist in the future. Read more on New Scientist's website.
