Sundays concept short

Sundays is a Sci-Fi, dystopian proof-of-concept short directed by Mischa Rozema and produced by Dutch studio PostPanic. Featuring plenty of CG work, the futuristic short deals with the moment when computer power will surpass human intelligence, and how the world will change due to it (spoiler: not for good). Part of the production was funded through Kickstarter, and the short is a first step towards a feature film. Watch the video on Vimeo.

Iray 2015 announced

NVidia has disclosed more information on v2015 of its GPU-accelerated renderer. New features include: Material Definition Language (MDL) open standard that allows materials to be used across applications, support for measured materials using the X-Rite Appearance exchange Format (AxF), ability to use instanced geometry and optimizations for NVidia's latest graphics hardware. Competition among renderer developers keeps getting heated. Pixar has released today a free version of its renderer for non-commercial use. The free version is fully featured, without watermark, time limits or other limitations, other than it can only be used for non-commercial purposes. (more...)
