Thinkbox FrostMX recompiled for 3ds Max 2024
Changsoo Eun has taken on the responsibility for finding willing developers to continue to recompile Thinkbox’s plugins for 3ds Max 2024 and beyond.
These plugins, which have been open-sourced, required substantial effort to update due to new SDK changes. At the time of writing, one plugin has been recompiled – FrostMX, which also now supports VRay6 and Thinking Particles . This update was made possible thanks to the efforts of Chaos’ Vlado.
A notable aspect of Changsoo’s initiative is the release format. The updated plugins are being distributed in an application package format, simplifying the installation process. Users can install these packages by simply unzipping them into the correct folder

What a great team effort – thanks to you both. I think many people will like this.
This is what I still love about Max, people will help each other out.
Once it becomes open source, could Autodesk integrate it into 3ds Max (if it is worth it)? If so, what are the challenges of integrating its code into a proprietary software? By the way, this is very welcome news. Thank you to the guys who worked hard to bring it back to life.
Thanks to for the effort.
Is Bobo still a frequenter of the 3ds max community?
Nice work, Changsoo et al. This is a great tool for heavy VFX work!
