Kinematic Lab has released Bookmarks, a new tool for 3ds Max animators that allows the user to create visual timeline bookmarks at scene level or on individual objects and change their colour, range, name, comment, link a camera, and more. Once created, bookmarks can be used to navigate the animation, isolate specific time ranges, move/scale keyframes, retime, layout and more. Bookmarks is inspired by a similar feature in Maya. The price of the plugin starts at €25. Find out more on the Kinematic Lab’s website.
Very nice plugin, KLabs, always great
Looks nice, especially the automatic camera switching…
wow! Nice job
Why are older program versions ignored?
Supported the oldest only from 2016 and what about the earlier?
Thousands of people still own and use them.
Please do not forget about them.
Supporting older versions is pretty difficult, especially with subscription models which prevent us from accessing earlier versions of Max. And on top of that, max is improving and things change in maxscript and python code which sometimes make it impossible to work on too old versions.
Really great plugin, this should have been integrated in 3ds Max by default.
Sadly everything KLab sells is node locked to one computer. And if you have two computers (office and home) you need to buy it twice! And the hassle of contacting KLab every time you update windows, no thanks. I would buy it in a heartbeat, but not with such a license model.
You need to read the FAQ about his licensing terms before coming to these assumptions.
“Can I use my license at home? on a laptop for exampl?
If you own a license yes, we offer a free 2nd license for home or remoting usage.
Just ask for it and send us your home computer MAC address.”
And it does not break every time you update windows. It’s locked to your MAC address (an ethernet port on your mo-bo), so if you were to swap motherboards, or get a new system, then yes, you would need to contact him. Otherwise, I have not had a single license issue with any software I’ve purchased from him or others that use this type of licensing. I’ve had them for several years now and have not had to contact him at all after getting the license. I’ve had RSMB, which uses MAC address based licensing as well, and it has been running for over 8 years on my workstation at the office.
Ok thanks, that helps a little. I will buy it then. Though, I honestly still think node locking and having to deal with mac adresses for smaller plugins for 3ds max is rather excessive.
