Corona 13 adds stylized rendering, GPU animation support via Vantage, and AI tools
Chaos has introduced stylized rendering and AI tools to Corona 13.
Corona 13 now includes Toon and Outline materials, enabling users to generate non-photorealistic renders such as cartoon-style images. Animation rendering on the GPU is now possible through integration with Chaos Vantage via the Vantage Live Link. AI-powered tools include the cloud powered Chaos AI Enhancer, which improves visual quality of people and vegetation in rendered images, and new firefly removal options that clean up bright pixel artifacts in both simple and advanced modes.
A Thin Film layer has been added to the Corona Physical Material, allowing for the simulation of iridescent effects like those seen on bubbles or oily surfaces. Scatter Clusters offer a new method to group and manage scattered objects in scenes using different distribution modes including noise, color maps, and painted layers.
Initial support for asset variations has been added in the Chaos Cosmos library, offering different styles for selected 3D people and vegetation models. Corona 13 also introduces the ability to import .vrscene files from Enscape, though this requires an installation of V-Ray.
