Why is everyone suddenly resorting to adopting Cycles these days? Rhino, Cinema4D…
Cycles is decent, but it isn’t even a physically-accurate renderer. It doesn’t simulate photons the way renderers like Maxwell and Indigo do.
Plus, it seems a bit weak to adopt something you’re technically competing against.
It’s like Kevin Durant’s going to Golden State, after Golden State beat him at the Thunder.
No doubt it is to lure over the ever growing Blender users to C4D. The more render engines a software has available to use the more users it will attract. Simple math, there are a lot of folks that love Cycles therefore to have it available in another app is huge and could lure those users over to utilize said software more often.
