Some of Jeff Patton’s latest automotive renders have been posted over at CG Record. The images were created using 3DS Max and VRscans.

Strange i don’t find anything special in those renders, and i could reckon them as 3D.

not to Bad!… but you are right, I think the Models are really crisp, and de Background blurred… not match.

yea, the renders look very nice actually but they don´t fit together with the backplates mainly because of the low resolution.

When I see brochure style renders I always wish they had even the most subtle of ‘grunge’ passes. So maybe some faint hints of dust or even just a greasy finger print here or there, just enough to disturb the pristine paintwork very slightly in a few places. But I understand why a client might not approve of that..

Jeff Patton is a great illustrator. My comment was a nit picky stylistic one about mainstream promo images in general. But then marketing cg isn’t really my area, so I think I’ll get my coat.

Anyone know if there is a successor to CG Cars forum or Sektor-41 forums? That were forums dedicated to great car renders. 5-7 years ago and certainly better than this.
