PhoenixFD is 960$ (for max and maya) and with liquids, it does also smoke and very cool foam see this link: https://vimeo.com/groups/164715
.
Bifrost in maya is not 100% ready yet and will maybe in max too any time soon as I have read about on Fxguide: https://www.fxguide.com/featured/bifrost-exclusive-first-in-depth-look/.

So it’s a good idea to lower real flow price.

Definitely agree! Competition is good because it not only lowers the price of RealFlow but forces them to innovate even more. To compete with Bifrost/Phoenix, I would like to see a quicker and more detailed Hybrido voxel solver and greatly improved connectivity plugins to start/tweak sims within your host app. I believe Realflow 2014 has already delivered on the first point.

I have used RealFlow at the studio I work at for around 6 months and it is incredible. The fact that you can simulate 80 million particles and mesh these fluids while still keeping the system stable is very impressive. The ‘Daemons’ like gravity, noise, DSpline, ‘Magic’, etc are also very handy.

I personally think it will take at least 2-4 more years for BiFrost to reach feature parity with RealFlow. Bifrost may soon become quicker to sim for more basic situations though, which is very important.

I tried phoenixFD 3 years ago, and definitely have got to check it out again!
