Shutterstock has announced a partnership between Shutterstock and NVIDIA to build AI foundation models for generative 3D artist tools. Customized Shutterstock content will be trained with NVIDIA Picasso generative AI cloud service to use text prompts to rapidly generate 3D content for industrial digital twins, entertainment, and gaming. Great!… Now models from Turbosquid will be used to train the AI without the concent of the artists. If this does not turn out to be a Aprils fools joke, i’m deleting my Turbosquid account.
Artists will receive some money for this as far as I know. But you can opt out in the account settings (Payment info – Distribution Exceptions)
it’s completely unethical and fascist to treat artists of their many years of work as fodder for the AI monster. Nvidia should be boycotted
