Kitsu – new production tracking software

CGWire has announced the release Kitsu, a new open source production tracking solution they describe as "Better than Excel, cheaper than Shotgun". In fact, the software is offered in two flavours, a free self-hosted option available under a GPL 3 license on Github, and a commercial cloud solution.  (more...)

Free character for blender rigged with Auto-Rig Pro

There was a conversation recently on CGPress about rigging with Blender in which Auto-Rig pro was discussed as a possible substitute for Max's Biped. For users who would like to try a character rigged using this tool, Lucas Veber, the creator of Auto-Rig Pro,  has just added a new free rigged model called Mike to the product page under a Creative Commons-0 license. Get it on Blender Market.

TyFlow Car Crash Demo

Tyson Ibele has released another sneak peek at tyFlow,  this time though it's a more substantial look at the setup used for his recent car crash demo in which we can see some of the tools and interface in action. If you've yet to hear about tyFLow, take a look at our original article outlining some of what we can expect, but in a nutshell, according to Tyson it's a replacement for PFlow currently under development with the aim to “bring Max back to the 21st century and create what PFlow could have been if development didn’t stop 10 years ago”. RE:Grade released for After Effects and Premiere Pro

RE:Vision Effects has announced RE:Grade a new plugin for  After Effects and Premiere Pro that adds tools to "manipulate contrast, saturation, and exposure to create super sharp imagery even from video that might be considered unusable".  RE:Grade costs $99.95 per license that works with both Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro.
